1858 Illinois Senate
The Lincoln & Douglas Photo
Lincoln and Steven Douglas entered into a
series of 7 debates on September 18, 1858. Much of the debate talk
was about slavery. These debates established Lincoln as a National
figure. Douglas won the race for senatorship
and assured Lincoln of winning the race against
Douglas for President in 1860.

Abe and Tad
Lincoln
Tad was the only member of the family of
the President to have his picture taken with his father taken on
February 9, 1864. It is listed only as being taken by one of Brady's
photographers at the White House. This print was widely circulated
and hung in many Homes.
